Overview

A small herding and farming village in the north of Lomensk Oblast. A friendly, close-knit community with a central square, a council house with a bell on its roof, and wind charms on the road posts at the village entrance. The Gemwielders pass through in Book II, where they are received warmly and rest briefly at the guest quarters.

• Marek Ales — mayor of Aleski at the time of Book II; son of Tayledyk Ales, a former mayor known to Yavakala
• Tayledyk Ales — former mayor; old associate of Yavakala

• Council house — broad wooden building with double doors, a bell on the roof, and windchimes on the eaves; used as the village administrative hall
• Kuresny Shed — guest quarters near the smithy; a long, low building with cots; used by traveling caravans
