Ranshao

Overview

The capital of Huozhi and seat of Huolong's dictatorship. Situated in northern Kashteni, with the port city of Lansecheng directly connected to its outskirts. Ranshao is a dark, working city, its walls blackened by fire decades past and worn like armor since. It does not glitter like Atema or Godascher, but it does burn efficiently and constantly. The streets are organized into named districts, with the metal-focused Tunhao District in the south and the Xhatao District further north leading to Castle Tianshaobieng via Leina Street.

• Huolong — dictator of Huozhi; bearer of Kashtet's Gem; resides in Castle Tianshaobieng
• Dhathrir Szakuvya — stayed temporarily as a guest and proposed ally to Huolong

• Castle Tianshaobieng — Huolong's palace; gigantic; carved basalt and ashy marble with gilded details; sixteen towers with bonfire-lit roofs; entered via a long staircase flanked by marble loviria statues

• Entry to the city from the south is via Luezhing Street through the Tunhao District, then Foanai Road right and Leina Street north to the palace
• The populace is visibly oppressed; crowds of protesting citizens have been noted at the palace steps
• Described as comparable to other capitals in scale but fundamentally different in character: industrial, dark, and militarized
