Pfapohrrv Forest

Type: Forest Nation: Othaala Region: Yavathre Sector

Overview

A glowing forest east of Lumen on the Yavathre Plateau, named for the Grotaarre Trees that dominate its flora. Grotaarre Trees have tall trunks with sparse twig-like lower branches and thickening foliage toward the crown, whose flowers glow green-yellow year-round, reflecting light from the moons and mingling with the bioluminescent glowbugs that populate the forest floor. The result is a forest navigable at night by its own light.

The forest is most significant as the location of Arveshia's Gem altar, a hidden meadow of plain white flowers deep within the trees, at whose far end a black mist created by Arveshia herself concealed a small stone altar bearing a Skrrove statue and the Gem beneath a sealed inscription. Vaethu and Aeliave of Cavant A-Meftua lived in a cabin just past the altar and guarded it for decades until Anue Beidaka arrived in Book I.

Notes

  • The altar meadow has patches of plain white flowers; the Gem was concealed under a black mist that dispersed on Anue's touch
  • The Skrrove statue atop the altar depicts a four-winged, eight-curled-tail, fox-like mythical creature, or a Shrova
  • Anue exits the forest northward onto the Dothesta Plains toward Thohvaer after receiving the Gem
