Gemwielders

Overview

The ten mortals chosen by each of Polaena's ten children to wield the elemental Gems. Each Gemwielder is the mortal extension of their patron god; the Gem itself is described as being intrinsically the god's own power, meaning the god and the Gemwielder are bound together. If a Gem is taken or destroyed, the Gemwielder dies and the god falls to The Low. Gemwielders have greatly expanded mana capacity and receive guidance, visions, and direct contact from their patron god.

• Mataki Naleva — Earth (Dvanithe)
• Dhathrir Szakuvya — Water (Faemelia) (traitor, original wielder: Lynaria Praczaya)
• Huolong — Fire (Kashtet) (hostile)

Worship & Church

• No formal institution; the Gemwielders operate outside and alongside the Polaenian Church
