Overview

Herat is the nation of the Angels, founded by Angelic peoples in the earliest eras of Alatrya. Its capital, Atema, sits in the central region of Centrem near the Great Ateman Waterfall. Herat occupies a varied landscape ranging from the coastal plains of Excemia and Bovalna in the north and southwest to the highland territory of Novernia and Colvescum in the east, defined by the towering Villeva Mountains, Taseman Mountains, and Thaetrachese Mountains that run through the nation's interior. The Polaenian Church maintains a strong presence throughout Herat, and the values within the Church make up the country's laws and policy.

Notes

  • An Angelic priest at the Polaenian Church in Covana appears in Book II, remarking that many who follow the faith stop reading the Book of Nasariane before its later books
