Races
Beastfolk
Beastfolk
Overview
The Beastfolk are the primary race of Birumiaka, occupying the eastern portion of Alatrya. They are of mammalian animalistic descent, tracing their six ethnic groups to the Six Faunan Kings who predated their civilization. They are one of two animalistic races on the continent alongside the Dragonkin, and are organized by prefecture within Birumiaka, with each ethnicity largely concentrated in its corresponding region.
Physical Traits
Each ethnic group inherits distinct animalistic features from their Faunan King ancestor, including tails, additional ears, antlers, and other traits described per ethnicity below. Beyond these inherited features, baseline anatomy is broadly humanoid.
Element Attunement
No single dominant attunement across the race.
Society & Culture
Birumiakan culture is deeply tied to tribal and prefectural identity, with each ethnic group maintaining distinct traditions, appearance, and regional governance. The six tribes are organized by prefecture. Clothing and body art traditions differ significantly by ethnicity (see Book I Appendix D for detail per tribe).
