Arveshian Shrine

Overview

The largest Arveshian shrine in all of Alatrya, located at the center of Vahhlve and towering over the surrounding buildings, easily four times the height of the tallest ordinary structure in the valley town. Despite its size, it is maintained by a single caretaker. At the time of Book I, that caretaker was Sa Paelnathe.

History

The shrine's sheer scale and the scarcity of devoted followers in Vahhlve meant that finding someone willing to maintain it was difficult. Caretakers were required to have been raised in the Polaenian Church, a condition that narrowed the pool considerably. Sa was the only congregant besides the Reverend who attended services every week, making her the natural choice.

• Anue Beidaka has seen Arveshia in person approximately five times as of Book I.
• The shrine is the reason Sa remained in Vahhlve rather than leaving with others.
